Description
A beautiful example of a new Charles Lancaster bolt action rifle, built on an original Mauser '98 action with full tang and push button safety.
The barrel is fitted with a banded ramp front sight, barrel band with sling swivel eye and a quarter rib fitted with express sights, one standing and two folding leaf sights.
Holland and Holland style quick detachable mounts hold a Swarovski Z6i 1-6 x 24 scope, with the front scope ring engraved with the calibre and the back ring with Maker's name.
The bolt knob is panelled and engraved, and the floor plate engraved with the calibre and. The serial number is engraved in a banner on the trigger guard, with Maker's name and address on the barrel.
The well-figured walnut stock has an English cheekpiece, a black buffalo horn forend tip, an engraved pistol grip cap trap and a gold oval ready for the buyer's initials or crest, and is finished with a Silvers recoil pad.
The rifle remains with its metalwork "in the white", ready for the buyer's final engraving or other specification adjustments.
